Abstract
297,001. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Sept. 9,1927, [Convention date]. o-Halogenantharaquinonecarboxylic acids are prepared by treating an anthraquinone o-sulphocarboxylic acid with halogen or an agent yielding halogen in aqueous solution or suspension. In examples, 2-chloranthraquinone-1-carboxylic acid, 2-chloranthraquinone-3-carboxylic acid, 1-bromo- 3-chloranthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid, 4-bromo- 2-chloranthraquinone-1-carboxylic acid, and 3 : 7- dichloranthraquinone-2 : 6-dicarboxylic acids are prepared. Anthraquinone-o-sulphocarboxylic acids are prepared by hydrolysis of o-cyanoanthraquinonesulphonic acids. In examples, anthraquinone-1- carboxylic-2-sulphonic, 3-carboxylic-2-sulphonic, 1 - brom - 2 - carboxylic-3-sulphonic. 4-brom-1- carboxylic-2-sulphonic, and 2 : 6-dicarboxylic-3 : 7-disulphonic acids are prepared. o-Cyanoanthraquinonesulphonic acids are prepared from o-aminoanthraquinonesulphonic acids by the diazo-reaction. In examples, 1-cyanoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid, 3-cyanoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid, 1-brom-2-cyanoanthraquinone-3-sulphonic acid,' 4-brom-1-cyanoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid, and 2 : 6-dicyanoanthraquinone-3 : 7-disulphonic acids are prepared.
