Thermionic amplifiers.-In a neutralized circuit feed back of energy from the output to the input exists slightly b u t regenerative action at all frequencies is suppressed completely without variation of the bridge constants. Fig. 2 shows the bridge circuit comprising filament 1, grid 2 and plate 3 of the valve and grid-plate capacity C3, neutralizing condenser C4 and tuning condenser C5. The Specification shows mathematically that the conditions are satisfied if condensers C3, C4, C5 and the inductance ratio between coils L1, L2 are maintained constant and the mutual inductance between coils L1, L, is made zero. Tuning is effected by varying the inductances L1, L2 while maintaining their ratio constant as by a coupling 10, and zero coupling between coils L1, L2 is effected by spacing or screening.
