Abstract
273,639. Hazeltine Corporation, (Assignees of Trube, C. A.). July 2, 1926, [Convention date]. Thermionic amplifiers.- In a radio-frequency coupling system employing an adjustable main resonant circuit across which a resonant voltage is built up the input comprises capacity and inductance in series and the arrangement is such that a desired relation between voltage ratio and frequency is secured. The inductance in the input circuit is connected directly at one point to the filament system. Fig. 6 shows the resonant circuit tuned by a condenser C2 and an inductance L6 in series with a condenser C3 and at working frequencies, having a smaller reactance than the condenser so that a relatively low voltage between the plate and filament is secured and the characteristic varies as shown in Fig. 6A. The application of the coupling to the input and as an intervalve coupling to a two-stage amplifier is shown in Fig. 8, in which a single control may be employed for the variable condensers C4. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the arrangement shown in Fig. 4 (Cancelled) in which the resonant circuit comprises condensers C3, C4, and an inductance L2 and the couplings C3, M are so proportioned as to give a voltage ratio E2/E1 varying with frequency as shown in Fig. 4<A> (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 256,644 and 256,967.
