Pneumatic transmission.-A vacuum pump of the piston or rotary type for energizing a servomotor brake is driven by a shaft l when the propeller shaft b over-runs the driving-shalt a. The shaft l is geared to a planet carrier d. having planet pinions e, e<1> in mesh with sun wheels f, g on the shafts a, b respectively. A detent i engaging a ratchet wheel j on the shaft prevents reverse rotation of the carrier so that, while the shaft b can over-run, it is automatically driven as soon as the shaft a overtakes it.
