Abstract
295,609. General Electric Co., Ltd., and Davey, J. A. May 6, 1927. Jigging conveyers.-Means for converting rotary into reciprocating motion with provision for adjustment of stroke and of rates of acceleration, for operating concentrating tables &c., comprises a rotary member imparting to a roller or the like a to-and-fro motion over a cam surface, the resultant motion, being transmitted through a lever to the member to be actuated. A roller 12 carried by a pitman 7 on a driving crank 3 rides up and down a fixed cam surface 13, its resultant motion being transmitted through a thrust link 17, hanging lever 20 and coupling rod 25 to a member 28 reciprocable be. tween guides 29, 30, a spring 31 providing the return motion. The pitman is provided with a bushing 8 secured by screws 9 and is formed with a pair of arms between which the roller 12 is mounted on a spindle 11. The thrust links 17 are formed with forked ends bearing against the spindle 11. The coupling rod 25 is adjustably connected to the lever 20 by a screw 22 controlled by a handwheel 23. The velocity curve of the reciprocatory member is regulated by adjustment or replacement of the cam 13. The seating for the spring 31 is adjusted by a screw 34. Cover plates 43, 44 in the casing give access. In a modification, the thrust member 17 is pivoted to a lever having an upward extension external to the casing and slctted to carry adjustably the end of a connecting rod operating the reciprocatory member.
