Abstract

1,015,857. Labelling machines. JOHANN WEISS MASCHINENFABRIK UND APPARATEBAU G.m.b.H. May 15, 1964 [May 16, 1963], No. 20377/64. Heading B8F. In apparatus for labelling articles 5, Fig. 4, moving along a conveyer 4 and pressed by a resilient member 1 into contact with a rotary labelling cylinder 14, the presser member 1 is arranged to move in the direction of travel of the conveyer 4 to reduce the impact stress imposed on the articles. The mounting 29 for the pressure member 1 is reciprocated by a connecting rod 6, Fig. 2, arranged between a pair of parallel cranks 2, 2<SP>1</SP> driven through gears 9, 16 from the main drive. The pressure member 1 thereby also has a reciprocating movement transversely of the conveyer 4 to engage and disengage the articles. Phase adjustment is obtained through screw and arcuate slow connections 10, 12 on the central gear 9. A spring-loaded sliding bolt connection 7 in the connecting rod 6 provides for inaccuracies in the positioning of the cranks 2, 2<SP>1</SP>.
