Abstract
295,170. Krell, O. D.ec. 12, 1927. Turntables.-Rotary airship shelters provided with trucks running on rails have the rotating gear for the shelter independent of the trucks. In one form, the hangar platform is provided with a rigid ring R and this is surrounded by an endless rope or band S adapted to be operated by pulley gearing a either fixed to the foundation of the building or carried by the hangar platform. 'The pulley gearing is carried partly by a hydraulic cylinder Z and partly by its piston k, electric motors m coupled in series being also provided for directly rotating the pulleys r, r<1>, Fig. 3, as the piston is operated in the cylinder. The rope may be single or multiple and the operating gears are so disposed that the rope contacts with the rigid ring tangentially. The hangar floor may be further supported by trucks running on rails k, k' and the space between the floor and the ring may be boarded over to provide storage or workshop space. The ring R may be braced by bracing diagonals v between the hangar platform and the ring.
