Abstract

294,741. Hills, H. E. T. June 8, 1927. Fittings, internal. - A carton for an electric lamp is provided with a holder for the lamp formed from a strip of stiff paper &c., Fig. 1, folded transversely along the line x-x into V-shape, the angle part having an opening b to receive the cap end of the lamp and creases c being made from the opening centrally down each side of the V to the ends of the strip so that, when the lamp and holder is inserted in the carton, the sides of the V at the end remote from the opening fit more or less closely the four sides of the carton as shown in Fig. 2; additional creases d may be provided. The material at opposite sides of the opening may be cut to provide tongues extending across the transverse fold from one side of the V, the tongues being folded over to the other side of the V and secured thereto by staples when the holder is made up. The holder may be fixed at one edge to a carton of the folding type so as to be opened when the carton is set up; the hole may have a serrated or slotted edge to receive the pins on the cap of the lamp.
