Abstract
294,662. Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. July 28, 1927, [Convention date]. Aerials particularly suitable for submarines. The aerial windings D are mounted in a hollow circular tube A, and are spaced apart by spherical members E, so that the immediate surroundings of the aerial consists of air instead of rubber or similar insulation, when the vessel is submerged. The tube A is divided into two electricallvseparate parts by a fluidtight, insulated joint C, and by the junction with the supporting-member. The latter consists of an upper column B, weakened at L so that it will break there in case of collision, and 'bolted through centering-means M, 0 to a lower column K which rotates in ball bearings on a rigid casing (not shown) firmly fixed to the body of the boat. The down-leads G are also formed in two sections connected by plug and socket members j, carried in an insulating plate H below the break-off point L.
