Abstract

293,934. Kalatzky, I. L. May 6, 1927. Advertising on vehicle wheels.-The hub cap of a vehicle wheel is fitted with a stationary (non- rotary) member carrying a name or other displaymatter visible through an opening or window in the cap. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the stationary member 18 with an enlarged part 20 forming a counterweight is carried on a ballbearing 19 fitted inside the cap 17. The displaymatter is arranged on the part 21 of the member 18 opposite an opening in the cap. In a modification applied to a steering-wheel, the member 18 is formed with a boss having a recess to fit over the nut on the end of the stub axle. In the modification shown in Fig. 7, the displaydevice 55 is carried by a stationary collar 50 between which, and a nut 52 on the axle 10, a ball-bearing 54 is fitted. In the form shown in Fig. 8, a cup 58 fitted in the cap 17. which is closed by a transparent cover 59, contains water or other liquid 57 to support, a buoyant element 56. The display-matter is carried by the member 56 which may be of cork with a loaded base 60.
