Abstract

213,431. Ewart, J. W., and Ewart, J. H. March 29, 1923. Advertising on vehicle wheels. - A weighted stationary advertising disc a is mounted so as to be axially adjusted upon the cap of the wheel hub. The disc is secured to an outer ball-race b preferably by bayonet joints the slots of which engage pins f on a plate g surrounding the race. A leaf-spring f<1> carried bv an angular member d on the disc engages one of the pins f to lock the disc in position. The inner race c is secured between nuts i, j on the cap h the nut l being locked by a cap i. Depending members h, o protect the bearing from dust. Also, the nuts i, j may be provided with flanges which cover the members h, o to further protect the ball-bearings from dust. Further, the inner race c may be screwed to the hub.
