Abstract
293,815. Williams, W.A. April 8, 1927. Latex, treating.-Vulcanized rubber is deposited from a vulcanized latex to which an electrolyte such as ammonium chloride has been added by the insertion of zinc and carbon electrodes connected together outside the cell, without the use of an external source of current. Chemicals or fillers to be incorporated in the deposit may be added to the latex; such additions should not be such as to cause premature coagulation. Detailed instructions for the preparation of a bath for deposition are included in the Specification. The carbon electrode may be enclosed in a porous vessel containing manganese dioxide. Specification 289,965 is referred to.
