Abstract

292,487. Jung, M. Oct. 24, 1927, [Convention date]. Washing-plant, arrangement of.- Washed fine coal obtained from a jig 1 is separated from the bulk of the washing water by an oscillating screen 2 and dried in a centrifugal separator 8. The water from the screen and separator passes to a sump 3 from which it is pumped to a settling- tank 5. The fine coal settling in the tank is dried in a further centrifugal separator 14, and water is taken from the top of the tank for use in the washing jig. Water from the separator 14 is pumped to the settling-tank 16. Coarse coal from a washing jig 18 is treated on grading screens 10, 11 and the washing water passes to the sump 3 for the recovery of fine coal in the separator 14.
