Abstract
221,913. Newsom, J. F. July 17, 1923. Wet-separating plant, arrangement of. - In an ore dredging process, both the coarsest and the finest classes of materials excavated are di. rectly rejected and only the intermediate classes are fed to the separating devices. The dredged material is elevated by buckets, suction cutters, gravel pump &c. 1 and passes by shoot 2 to a revolving screen 3 from which the coarse material is rejected down a shoot 4. The material passing through the screen passes to wet separator desanding devices 9 such as spitzkasten from which fine sand and slimes are rejected through an overflow 10 and down launders 11. The heavier grains of sand and ore settle in hoppers 16 and pass through openings 17 and launders 18 to the final jigs 8 or sluices 7.
