Abstract

292,395. Rheostatic Co., Ltd., and Satchwell, L. Sept. 20, 1927. Heating by electricity. -An anti-freezing device for use with cylinders containing compressed gas comprises a tube 1 adapted to be coupled to the outlet of the gas container and to the usual pressure-reducing valve or service pipe, a casing 6 surrounding the tube, insulated electric heating elements 10 wrapped round or clamped to the tube, and a plug 12 for connecting the elements to a source of supply. The tube 1 is of metal and fitted with a twisted metal strip 14. It is provided with a tube 2 and nut 3 for coupling it to the gas container, and a screwed recess 5 into which is screwed the service pipe or pressure reducing valve. The tube is square in cross section, a heating element being clamped to each face.
