Abstract
292,368. Barton, P. C. July 16, 1927. Stays.-A combined stay and fastener for casement windows and the like comprises pivotallymounted telescopic members a, b that are secured in an adjusted position by a securing device b<6> which is adapted, when the window is closed, to engage with an independent fastening element e to secure the window in its closed position. The bars a, b pivoted to the window c and frame d respectively are each formed with holes a', the bar a having an eye-piece a<2> in which the bar b is guided. The securing device b<5> is carried on the end of the bar b, and houses a slidable pin b<2> to engage with holes in the bars a, b. When the window is closed, the pin b<2> may enter through a slot e<1> in a bracket member e, the pin being then lowered until the part b<6> wedges within the enlarged part e<2> of the slot. Tubular telescopic members with a gravity pin or screw clamping means may be used instead of the slidable telescopic bars.
