Abstract
291,896. Sanders, G. March 16, 1927. Heating by electricity; resistance ovens.-In apparatus employing a heating element which is continually in action and wherein as much heat as is necessary is used when required for cooking or other heating operation, all surplus heat generated after a predetermined temperature is reached being used for heating a supply of water, means are provided whereby the temperature below which heat transfer is prevented may be adjusted. An annular boiler 1 surrounds a cooking space and is connected through an adjustable spring loaded valve 7 with a, circulating pipe 5 arranged in an annular water chamber 2 having inlet and outlet connections 3, 4. The boiler is filled with water or other liquid and no circulation occurs until the vapour pressure is sufficient to lift the valve. The heating element is arranged in the boiler or the cooking space. The cooking space is closed by a lid 12 carrying shelves 13.
