Adjusting height of body from ground.-An audible or visible indicator is disposed near the driver of a vehicle so as to show the relative position of frame and axle for each wheel of a vehicle in order that the springs may be adjusted in accordance with variations of load. In the arrangement shown diagrammatically each wheel a is mounted on a lever c pivoted to the frame and having one arm connected to the piston e<1> of a pneumatic suspension cylinder and another arm i adapted to make contact with points, k, k<1> to close a circuit through the electric lamps l or l<1>. The points k, k<1> are spring supported so that they yield after the arm i has bridged them. Repeated illumination of either lamp indicates that the frame is either above or below its normal position and air should then be admitted or released from the corresponding cylinder e, connections f to a pressure reservoir g being provided for this pur. pose. The upper and lower limits may be different in colour or otherwise. A pointer and scale may be used instead of limit indicators. A continuous recording apparatus may be provided.
