Abstract

290,985. Brodowski, K. May 21, 1928. [A Specification, was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 22, 1928]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Static contact rectifiers, arrangements of.-Dry surface contact rectifiers comprise contact elements a of zinc or alloys of copper or aluminium in conjunction with elements b, c of a metallic sulphide such as copper sulphide and galena, the elements, or at least one thereof, being subjected prior to use to heating by passage of current therethrough in a direction opposite to that of the rectified current. As end contact element d, a metal such as nickel having a low affinity for sulphur is employed. The metallic sulphide elements are produced in a homogeneous form by heating in a mould pulverized or granulated sulphide material to which free sulphur may be added. The Specification describes a circuit in which the rectifier is used in series with the load, and refers to a bridge arrangement utilizing both waves of the A.C. supply. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes a circuit in which the rectifier is used in parallel with the load. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
