Abstract
290,251. Aktiebolaget Vacuum-Compressor, (Assignees of Berglund, O. R. P.). May 11, 1927, [Convention date]. Grinding interfitting parts together.-Interfitting surfaces, for example, parts of rotary engines, pumps, compressers, &c., are ground by their mutual movement, grinding powder, with or without a liquid, which is admitted between the surfaces, being sucked or pressed therebetween in consequence of and in accordance with the rate of movement. As applied to a rotary machine in which a piston 1 moves eccentrically in an annular space between parts 2, 3 connected by a partition 4, the powder is admitted through the inlet 5, which is then closed, the piston 1 then being operated. The powder passes into and out of the spaces 8, 9 until the surfaces are ground tightly, when it is ejected through the outlet 6.
