Abstract

Cenfrifugal machines.-A rotatable frame 5 carries a plurality of removable trays or moulds 17 arranged in tiers one above the other, and clamped securely by a plate 22 which serves as a cover for the uppermost tray, and which is raised or lowered by means of a handle 31 on a transverse shaft 29 through bevel gearing. The trays filled with plastic material are slid into position from a trolley 18 and are withdrawn on to rails 21 when the moulding operation is completed. If only one end of the frame is used for receiving trays, balance weights are employed at the opposite end. The frame 5 is rotated from a driving shaft 33a by means of a band 10<a> and pulleys 10, 43 through a friction clutch 42, and screws 38 are provided for adjusting the position of the supporting frame 36. Additional braking means comprises a brake wheel 11 and pivoted closing members 45, 46 which are brought into engagement therewith against the action of a spring 48 by means of a lever 51.
