Fuel supports; air supply, regulating. - The centrally-delivered blast of a gas producer is controlled during operation by a valve (or valves) 15 adapted by its upper edge to control the passage between the upper end of the central blast duct 11 and the adjacent blast hood 12. or the passages between the several blast hoods 12, 13, etc.; both controls may also be used in combination. The valve is preferably a sleeve valve 15, as shown, and an additional valve movable with it, or independently may be used to control the passages between the blast hoods. Operation is effected from the exterior by means of the central rod 16, lever 17, and hand-wheel with screw and nut.
