Moistening; rollers. - In spinning artificial silk of fine counts in centrifugal spinning-machines the filament is moistened with water by a jet nozzle 2 as it passes to the drawing-off roller 3 so as to overcome its tendency to adhere to the roller and thus to ensure its delivery. A layer of water is thus formed on the periphery of the roller, whereby the filament is also protected from damage and is so treated that the period of the subsequent washing operation is shortened substantially.
