Abstract

289,780. Soc. L. Lombardini &. Co. April 30, 1927, [Convention date]. Drawers. - In a cabinet for visible card indexes having drawers 1, Fig. 4, provided with hinged follower members 4 adapted to prevent the withdrawal of the drawer, the follower carries a gravity-operated detent device adapted to engage stops or abutments in the cabinet, with means provided for releasing the detent device. The detent device comprises a transverse bar 7 projecting through the sides of the follower 4 and carried by a plate 6 hinged to the follower, stops 11 being provided on the cabinet for engagement by the ends of the bar. If it is desired to withdraw the drawer completely, the bar 7 is moved clear of the stops by means of tongues 5 on the plate 6. In order to lessen friction, each drawer has out-turned upper edges 14, Fig. 9, supported on rollers 10 freely mounted on the sides of the cabinet, and rollers 9 are provided on the pivot pin of the follower 4. The stops 11 may be dispensed with, the rollers 10 being positioned so as to serve the same purpose.
