Abstract
831,329. Suspension files; index tabs. LETTER-FILING APPLIANCES CO. Ltd. March 1, 1957 [March 2, 1956], No. 6539/56. Classes 16 and 146(1) A suspension filing device for letters &c. comprises a supporting member 12 of fibre &c. having secured along its upper edge an inverted U-shaped bar 13 with an undercut slot 14 and arm 15 adapted to engage a single rail 17, the slot 14 being disposed midway or slightly nearer the front edge 33 so that when the member 12 is mounted on the rail 17 the weight of a folder 11 carried by the member 12 rotates until a recess 18 in the bar 13 bears against an abutment rail 19. The folder 11 has downturned flanges 31 which hook over an upturned flange 25 riveted at 21 to the member 12, the lower edge 26 of the member 12 being spaced slightly from the flange 25 to operate as a keeper flap. Both flanges 31 of a single folder or a flange 31 on each of two adjacent folders may be interengaged and then slid on to the flange 25. Indicia may be carried by a card 40 with transparent cover 38 arranged as shown in Fig. 2 or with the press stud elements 39 engaging through holes 37 and the card 40 and cover 38 lying along the edge 34.
