Abstract
289,590. Murray, J. L. W. Feb. 23, 1927. Rests; adjustments.-Means for angularly adjusting the pivoted sections of beds, mattresses, chairs, &c., comprise a transverse spindle e<3> mounted in supports e<2> and having right and left-handed threads at its ends, and nuts h, i, engaging the threads and carrying links k, pivoted together at m and slidably engaging, at n, a cross-bar e<1> on the pivoted section e. A back rest section c, a thigh rest section d and a leg rest section e may be provided, each having similar adjusting means. The sections d, e may be operatively connected so that the leg rest section e cannot be raised to a greater inclination than the thigh rest section d, and in this case additional links k', l<1> are provided, connecting the bar d<1> with the links k, l.
