The rails a<1>, b<1> are recessed, or are provided with distance pieces e, f, so that. when the device is used as a bed, these rails are sufficiently below the mattress as not to constitute a source of discomfort. The back c may be pivoted to the frame by means of lugs g and a pad p may be provided which can be turned over and used as a pillow. Specification 249,374 is referred to.
