Pocket igniters, frictional.-The wick-tube c is surrounded by a shield a having louvred air apertures b adapted to deflect the air upwardly through the shield and is split longitudinally into a plurality of claws between which the wick is exposed. The wick-tube c is normally covered by a cap d carried by a pivoted arm e, a plate f being secured to the cap to cover the shield a and having an extension g to cover the friction wheel h. The shield a has a slot for the arm e and an aperture k for the admission of sparks.
