Pocket igniters, frictional. - In an igniter in which the wick-tube e is split or perforated so as to expose a considerable wick surface and is provided with a pivoted closing cap g, the wicktube e is arranged eccentrically on a frusto - conical base o, which forms a seating for the bevelled edge of the cap g, in order that a narrow cap may be used with a comparatively long wick-tube. The latter is surrounded by a shield f having having air-inlet apertures and an aperture for the admission of sparks produced by a friction-wheel carried by a Hint tube arranged on, and parallel with, the top plate c. The cap g carries a plate h and a hood i, adapted to cover the shield f and the frictionwheel respectively, and is carried by a pivoted arm k held in the open or closed position by a spring m.
