Abstract

288,384. Gestetner, D. Jan. 17, 1927. Stencilling.-To facilitate mounting one or more sheets of porous paper, such as Yoshino paper, on a duplicating-machine between the stencil and the stencil-carrier for the purpose of reducing the quantity of ink delivered through the stencil, a sheet of relatively stiff paper, preferably greaseproof paper, is associated with the porous sheets so that all the sheets are in temporary adhesive connection over substantially the whole of their adjacent faces. The invention is particularly applicable to duplicating-machines of the type in which a greasy ink is employed and the stencil is carried by a silk band passing over inking-rollers. The adhesive consists of a non-drying or non- hardening or slow-drying or slow-hardening material, the example given being mineral jelly. The porous sheet is fixed to a heading so as to engage the stencil fastening devices, and the stiff paper is detachably connected to the heading so that after the sheets have been mounted on the stencil carrier the stiff paper may be peeled off, preferably after the machine has been operated to ink up the porous sheet.
