Complex nitrogenous compounds containing phosphorus.-Potassium metaphosphate prepared as described in Specification 288,330, [Class 1 (ii), Inorganic compounds, other than &c.], is hydrated to form di-potassium pyrophosphate or monopotassium orthophosphate, and these substances are treated with nitrogen bases such as ammonia, urea, cyanamide, &c. to form complex compounds such as, for example, PO(OK) (ONH4)NH2, which are suitable for use as manures.
