Phosphoric acid.-Insoluble calcium phosphate is treated in the form of a suspension or mud with nitrogen oxides mixed with air or oxygen. The nitrogen oxides obtained from electric arc nitrogen oxidation or from the oxidation of ammonia are suitable. The products are calcium nitrate and dicalcium or monocalcium phosphate or phosphoric acid according to the quantity of nitrogen oxides employed.
