Abstract
288,208. Compagnie des Mines d'Ostricourt. April 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Grant of Patent opposed. Gases, treating with electric discharges. - In electrical smoke precipitation apparatus in which a high tension discharge takes place between high tension wires and sheetmetal plates gratings 11 are interposed be. tween the wires 9 and plates 12 whereby the electrostatic field between the plates and the grating is weaker than that between the grating and the high tension wires. The smoke particles precipitated on the plates fall into hoppers 13. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also an arrangement shown in Fig. 1 (Cancelled), in which electrically charged wires 2 are tensioned by weights 3 across an insulated frame 1 lyinfig in the path of the smoke stream, the precipitation apparatus being placed behind this arrangement. In an arrangement shown in Fig. 3 (Cancelled), the wires 7, 7<1> are stretched across spaces 6, 6<1> formed in a sheet of metal 5 placed parallel with the smoke stream. Already ionized particles are deposited on the part 5<1> and particles ionized by the charged wires on the areas 5<2> and 5<3>. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
