Abstract

288,052. M³ller, P. June 7, 1927. Stropping-apparatus for razors &c. consists of a carriage 2 carrying a blade-holder 9 mounted on a shaft 7, which is reciprocated by a handle 1 along a strop 13 carried in a frame 5, guide-bars 3, 4 being provided on the frame, and the bar 4 having thereon rack teeth. The blade-holder is reversed by the rack, through pinions 6, 8, and is frictionally mounted on the shaft 7, a spring collar 12 providing the necessary friction. The strop 13 is carried by a frame 14 which may be reversible and provided with another strop 15. In a modification, the bar 4 has rack teeth on its underside in addition to those on its upper side, and a second blade holder is provided on the carriage, so that two blades may be treated simultaneously, one on each of the strops 13, 15.
