Abstract

106,350. Morgan, J. H. June 14, 1916. Stropping-apparatus. -A machine for grinding all the edges of a double edged safetyrazor blade without removal from the machine comprises an upper pair of rollers, a lower pair of rollers and a blade holder h capable of sliding vertically in the frame of the machine. The bladeholder is held by a spring with both edges of its upper side in con. tact with the under surfaces of the upper rollers; it may be depressed by means of the knob f<1> to bring the lower edges against the lower rollers. The spring may be dispensed with and the blade pressed both ways by hand. The rollers may be of stone, &c. or they may be covered with leather ; they are geared together and driven by a crank-handle on the spindle of one of them. By the use of an appropriate holder single edged blades may be treated on the machine.
