Abstract

287,405. Peacock, W. Sept. 17, 1927. Bodies.-In a composite framing for the side walls of vehicles, the vertical pillars are each built up of spaced, parallel, vertical metallic bars comprising a member 1 of " T " or channel section and a member 7 of flat or segmental section, which embrace the ends of horizontal wooden bars 13, 14, Fig. 1, and vertical wooden blocks 6, 6<a>, 6b. The web of the T-section is cut away at each end and the flange bent to form a knee 4, 5, Fig. 2. The horizontal bars 13, 14 are formed to receive window panes 16, Fig. 3, which are held in position by cheeks 15 and rubber packing 18.
