Alloys.-An alloy, particularly for use as a substitute for bronzes, consists of 50-60 per cent. of copper, 30-40 per cent. of zinc, 0.25-1.5 per cent. of lead, 0.25-1.5 per cent. of iron, 2-6 per cent. of manganese, and 2-6 per cent. of nickel.
