Abstract

286,151. Warrington Light Castings Co., Ltd., Fairclough, J.., and Melton, A. July 19, 1927. Drinking-appliances for animals. - Water is supplied to a number of cattle watering bowls 1 from a common float-controlled reservoir the water being supplied to each bowl through an inlet orifice the lower edge of which is just below the water level. When an animal drinks the water level drops below the level of the inlet pipe thus cutting off communication with other bowls. The inlet pipe 4 is preferably cast integral with the bowl in the front face of a flat back plate 2. The inlet orifice 5 is formed at the upper end of the inlet pipe. An orifice 7 closed by a removable plug is provided for cleaning the bowl. Two bowls divided by a bar may be supplied from a common inlet.
