284,486. Rae, G., and Ewing, T. March 2, 1927. Drinking - appliances for animals. - The drinking bowls 1, in a system for supplying water to animals in which several bowls are connected to a supply tank 11 having a float valve 12 or other means whereby a constant head of water is maintained, are formed quadrantal in horizontal cross section so as to fit in the angles of the walls of the stalls and the supply to each bowl is effected through a passage 8 in the bosom of the angular portion thereof. The rectangular sides 2, 3 of each bowl are formed with integral lugs 4, 5 by which the bowls are secured to the walls. A boss is formed on each rectangular side to engage the wall and to steady the bowl. A supply passage 8, provided at the top with a removable cap 16, passes up the angle of each bowl and communicates through an opening 13 with the interior. The opening 3 is provided with a non-return valve 19, Fig. 6. The bowls may be of enamelled iron, galvanized iron, or earthenware.
