Abstract
477,635. Electric water heaters. WHITE, H. A. N., and WHITE, M. E., (trading as NOLOS DISTRIBUTING CO.), WILLIAMS, W. G., and LLOYD, A. M. Sept. 3, 1936, Nos. 24114 and 26184. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] Beneath a hole in the bottom of an externally heated washing-boiler is secured a sump-like vessel a carrying water-circulating means o extending from the boiler into the vessel, so that cool water passes centrally down into the latter and heated water rises adjacent to the heated side walls to be diverted sideways into the bottom of the boiler. Mica-insulated metalsheathed electric heating elements g are clamped to the sides of the polygonal vessel a by screwed studs h projecting through outer metal bands i. The water is circulated by a vertical central tube o with holes p, q adjacent its closed ends, and two perforated mushroom heads r, s at its upper portion. The lower vessel may be gasheated and has a funnel-shaped part surrounding it and extending out beneath the bottom of the boiler.
