286,080. Lightalloys, Ltd., and Grieve, W. H. Feb. 22, 1927. Doors for passenger vehicles. - Sliding metal doors for road vehicles &c. are formed of a onepart casting having vertical and horizontal ribs or flanges 3,. 4 at the edges and centre and around the window opening and a thin plate 9 is secured by countersunk screws to the middle of the door and around the window to give increased strength. The glass panel may be secured by a thickened edge 12 of the plate 9 engaging the packing 13. Thickened parts 6, 7 are provided for attachment of the door hangers and lock and parts 8 at the bottom for rollers. The plate 9 may extend the full width of the door.
