Abstract

285,353. Schwanda, J. Feb. 12, 1927, [Convention date]. Multiplying and dividing apparatus.-In driving a number of parallel shafts, such as cylinder shafts in calculating-machine, by cranks and a connecting.rod, a primary and an auxiliary shaft in the train are each connected by gear wheels to two additional shafts which are also-connected by cranks and a connecting-rod, one of such additional shafts being the main driving shaft of the mechanism. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also arrangements wherein the primary and auxiliary shafts are directly coupled by a second connecting rod, as shown in Fig. 1 (Cancelled), or by toothed, chain or other gearing. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
