Abstract

[Class 7 (ii).] The engines used to drive tandem aircraft propellers are coupled together by a hand operated or automatic clutch 25, which connects the two crank shafts 1, 13 together. The propellers rotate in opposite directions their hubs being fast on concentric shafts 9, 21 driven through reducing gear 3, 15 from the crank shafts.
