Abstract

Two-stroke-cycle engines; crank chambers. - Mixture is compressed in the front end of the cylinder and enters the top of the combustion chamber through the controlled valve 60; the admission and delivery ports to the pump chamber are also valve controlled. Spaced pistons 66, 67 on the common piston rod 27 are used, the drive being through the cross-head 28 and connecting- rods 21. Exhaust takes place through the pistoncontrolled port 56. Screw caps 55 permit access to the pump valves. The cross-head guide 24 is formed separately from the cylinder block. Lubricant enters the cylinder centrally through two oppositely arranged pipes. The valves are worked from the cam-shaft 16 through tappet rods 48, 64.
