Abstract

284,158. Adam, H., and Holstein & Kappert Maschinenfabrik Ph÷nix Ges. Aug. 12, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Bottles, washing.- A pair of screws 7, 8 operates reciprocating devices with a dwell at the end of each traverse, the device being suitable for use in bottle washing machines such as described in Specification 236,841. The screws are geared together, are driven constantly in opposite directions, and are engaged alternatively by driving dogs 19, 20 carried by a member 13 to be reciprocated. In the configuration shown, the dog 19 after having been thrust to the extreme left, has come to rest in a free recess 11. At the end of the dwell, a geared cam 23 strikes a bowl 21 on a rod 18 and thrusts that rod over so that the dog 20 engages and is picked up by the screw 8. At the end of the traverse to the right, there is a dwell terminated by a cam 24 striking a bowl 22, whereupon movement to the left begins.
