Luggage racks.-A, folding luggage,-carrier for motor-vehicles comprises an inner and smaller U-shaped frame a of angle iron and a similar outer and longer frame b pivoted together and to supporting brackets c by means of bolts d, the outer frame being adapted to fold over and entirely enclose the inner frame and, in the extended position, being capable of a sliding adjustment relative to the inner frame. The side members b<1> of the outer frame are preferably extended as at b<2>, Fig. 4, to form stops for limiting the unfolding pivotal movement of the outer frame. The inner frame a is held in a normal or horizontal position by means of bolts e, which connect lugs f on the frame to the brackets c and which can be released when desired so as to allow the entire carrier to be swung down, e.g. for giving access to a spare wheel carried on the rear of the vehicle. In order to vary the width of the carrier to suit the articles of luggage carried, the side members b<1> may be provided with series of holes b<5>, any corresponding pair of which may be engaged by the bolts d.
