Abstract
280,530. I. G. Farbenindnstrie Akt.- Ges. Nov. 13, 1926, [Convention date]. Addition to 182,948 and 219,287. Alloys.-A modification of the process described in the parent Specifications for purifying magnesium and magnesium alloys, which may contain aluminium, zinc, &c., consists in causing the finished product to contain up to 0.1 per cent of calcium and up to 0.4 per cent of manganese. Metallic calcium and manganese chloride or other manganese compound may be added to the salt melts during the process, or a calcium-manganese or other manganese alloy or metallic manganese may be used.
