Abstract
280,268. Reavell, J. A. Aug. 6, 1926. Gases, separating mixtures of. - In applying adsorbents to gases or vapours for dehydration or separation of particular constituents therefrom, the adsorbent is sprayed in finely divided form into the upper part of a closed chamber through which the gas is caused to descend, the gas being given a whirling motion in the chamber. The adsorbent is sprayed into the closed chamber a through a rotary sprayer b adapted to produce a horizontal jet, and the gas is delivered by a pipe c to a chamber d formed with radial slots e serving to give the gas a tangential motion. Baffles f, of truncated conical form, are arranged in the lower part of the chamber, the last one serving to screen the gas delivery pipe g. A worm i is provided to remove the saturated adsorbent.
