Abstract
28,140. Naswanoff, M. Dec. 14. Hydro-extractors; separators for gaseous substances; bas7cets.-In centrifugal machines for expelling liquid or gas from masses of material in moulds, part of the liquid &c. is retained in the mass by causing the liquid &c. expelled to travel for a distance towards the shaft and set up a back pressure. Fig. 1 shows a sugar-loaf treating-machine in which the moulds c perforated at e have hoods g attached to them or to the nest b, or formed in one with the nest. In a modification, the expelled liquid is led back towards the shaft f by a pipe connected with a passage in the nest. The hoods may be altered to give the final saturation required.
