Abstract

280,146. Cameron, W. J. Aug. 5, 1927. Bulbs.-A miniature bulb for attachment to surgical instruments to illuminate surfaces for inspection &c. is formed of glass tubes 12, 14 arranged transversely to each other and enclosing a filament 11 and its leads, and a lens 15 fused to the end of the tube 14. A cap 15 applied to the tube 12 is either of the bayonet type, as shown, or of screw type, for ininsertion into a socket in the instrument. An opaque coating is applied to the tubes so that light is emitted only through the lens. The coating may be formed by first spraying on zinc and then painting the xino coating.
